Carceral Society: An ode to Foucault

The way words turn into verbs and into actions Legitimizing factors The drivers and dividers of units split into factions Biproducts of a fraction Of centralized intelligence That built the pretense Of the viralized bought doctrine of the indigent

Irreverently profitable To the Apostle of the dissonant Cognition The intellectual prophet’s repetition His pocket’s fingerprint In the crime scene he’ll imprint With every dollar made in slaughter Or the contaminated water of flint

The warehouse collapse in Illinois The six dead that he employed And the kids in Bangladesh See the Veil of Ignorance is real but too is mesh See-through Like the policies of Congress deployment of troops Through words is derived licit “righteous” abuse Through words they build the ruse

And the archive they connive

Made to deprive our mind of use Can but confuse When the screws are fake the chains we can refuse

The path is ever open

Though stolen, can’t be defused

And many chapels many castles Were once upon a time accused

Can’t be defused

Resistance a pestilence ever ensued

Ever pursued

For doubt is the sprout that’ll out protrude

Mental jails into open air

Widen minds into open room

The Carceral Society’s dead

If we all create its tomb.
