Writer, and his writing, funny hey?

Oh, to be a writer, fun hey? Not really….

Writing it's not a blessing and most certainly it's not some glory to be applauded or even desired.

NO, to write is a need that moves humans to express themselves, through odd characters and misleading expressions. It’s a complete relief of the complexity that resides inside us and of what we surround ourselves with.

It can be the transmission of hope, anger, anxiety, etc. With a pencil and a piece of paper, we are able to pock hearts and reach our biggest insecurities in life.

For me, and in some way for Charles Bukowski, to be a writer is to surrender yourself to vulnerability. This is quite paradoxical, because with all your strength and power, without flinching for a single moment, you “just” choose to surrender.

Not easy, hey? Some of us worship the writers who value the complexity of the ideas, form, and vocabulary. These writers have the ability to captivate our attention during their epiphanies. Others appreciate the writers that can make it “simple” whether in its vocabulary or even in its form. However, they have the power to make the most complex things in life into perceivable quotes (“We have so much to say, and we shall never say it”; Erich Maria Remarque, “All Quiet on the Western Front”)
